The Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) are user-friendly mobile features that give you alerts on weather, kidnappings (Amber Alerts) and presidential announcements in the United States. However, these alerts have geographical limitations and in many instances might just buzz at odd hours. In that case you might want to put off these alerts. It makes sense to turn them off more so in case of those carrying multiple phones.
While presidential alerts cannot be turned off, here are some easy steps that can help you turn off other alerts from your mobile.
In case of emergency alerts in Androids, browse for the settings option, click ‘More’ and further surf through the Wireless & Networks section. In some cases, you might have to go to the message settings to disable these alerts.

The Notifications section in the iOS settings house the emergency Alerts. Emergency Alerts are at the bottom of the page from where they can be turned off.
The Application List in the Start Menu of the Windows Phone can help users to turn off the emergency alerts. Go to Messages in the Application List and select the More option. This is visible in the form of three dots on lower-right-hand side of the screen. Go to settings in the More option, browse for Emergency Alerts and disable them.
Feature phones are basically the regular mobile phones, which have emergency alerts. In this case you call the wireless provider to discontinue the service or sending an sms “stop” or “cancel” to 26237 (AMBER).
